Andy Newby
Athletic Director/Director of Operations
Hello, my name is Andy Newby. I am excited to have been given the opportunity to serve the students, parents, and community of Washington.
I grew up in Lindsay, Oklahoma, and graduated from Lindsay High School. I went on to college, continuing my education, and graduating from Oklahoma State University. I am a Certified Athletic Director through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association, and I have 24 years of experience in teaching, coaching, and administration with Woodward Public Schools.
While in Woodward, I helped coach the 2006 State Champion Girls Basketball team. I was serving as the Athletic Director when the girl's basketball team won the 5A State Championship in 2016, and the Class 4A State Runner Up Baseball Team in 2011. In 1996, our football team reached the semifinals in Class 5A, before losing in double overtime. I was fortunate enough to have been selected as an All-State Football Coach in 2011.
I have three daughters, Preslee 26, Devre 21, and Harlee 18. Devre and Harlee will both be at OSU this Fall. Devre is starting her Senior year and is a member of the PomSquad, and Harlee will be a Freshman. Preslee lives in El Reno with her husband, Bryce. My daughters and I enjoy going to the lake with our dog, watching movies and spending time with family.
I am looking forward to the opportunity to serve Washington Public Schools!
