Second-grade students studied animal habitats and recently took an educational field trip to the OKC Zoo. Students were asked to choose an animal that they wanted to research. Students used articles and books to gather their information. They then went through the writing process of pre-writing with a graphic organizer, drafting their work, editing their work, and finally publishing their report. Next, students had the fun opportunity to create a diorama to accompany their written report and show their chosen animal's habitat. There were so many impressive projects turned in.
