Leaders in the Making: Three WHS Students Excelling at Oklahoma Girls and Boys State
Presley Strickland, Baylor Haynes, and Cole Beller, three incoming seniors at WHS, recently had the honor of representing our school at Oklahoma Girls and Boys State, a prestigious program sponsored by the American Legion of Oklahoma. The program is designed to provide an intense week of non-partisan leadership, government, and patriotism training to delegates who have completed their junior year of high school and have been selected by their local American Legion Post as representatives of the best of their community. These outstanding students from our district who participated undoubtedly gained valuable experience and skills in leadership, government, and patriotism. They were able to learn from experienced leaders and participate in a variety of activities designed to develop their leadership abilities and understanding of government. Overall, the experience of attending Oklahoma Girls and Boys State is sure to have a positive impact on the lives of these three students and will undoubtedly help them to become better leaders and citizens in their communities. We are proud to have had them represent our school in this prestigious program and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will undoubtedly have in the future.
